Can you dig it?
Paleontologist Gary Takeuchi unearths the jawbone of an ancient camel during a fossil hunt at Red Rock Canyon. Open to the public, the expeditions are sponsored by the Natural History Museum of LA County, offering families the chance to excavate for actual fossils in the real world. The spectacular Red Rock Canyon basin was used as the actual backdrop for the dig site in "Jurassic Park" and contains a wealth of fossils from early prehistory California.
